Synopsis
Homejacking (2024) is a French thriller you can watch online on iFILM. An ordinary morning in an expensive house deep in the forest. Then a hooded stranger forces his way in and takes the owners hostage.
What he wants stays unclear. Not cash, not jewellery — he seems to be after one specific thing, and he knows exactly where it is hidden. The couple (Yannick Choirat and Marie Dompnier) insist they have nothing to hide. Yet their own basement has held a secret for decades, one they chose to forget. The longer the siege drags on, the plainer it gets: the intruder is tied to that buried past far more tightly than the homeowners care to admit.
Director Hervé Hadmar, a craftsman of French noir, locks the viewer inside those four walls with the characters and slowly tightens the noose. This is a chamber piece for a small cast, where the tension lives in dialogue and what goes unsaid rather than in chases.
