Synopsis
Atomic (2025) is a British action thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Max, a free-spirited drug smuggler with no plan beyond the next score, crosses paths with JJ, a guarded outsider on the run. The encounter drags them both into a job neither asked for: moving highly enriched uranium across North Africa and the Middle East.
From there it's a downhill sprint. The CIA, MI6, a drug cartel and a tangle of rival players all want the cargo, each for their own reasons. Max only wants to survive and walk away rich. JJ seems to be chasing something else entirely, and keeps his cards close. Forced to trust each other at gunpoint, the two con men strike up a prickly, unlikely friendship that holds the show together better than any chase scene.
The tone leans into dry British humour: the stakes are nuclear, but the mood is closer to a road movie about two screw-ups in over their heads. Alfie Allen and Shazad Latif lead, with Samira Wiley alongside. It lands for anyone who likes spy thrillers where the tension comes with a smirk instead of a salute.
