Synopsis
The Breslau Murders (Breslau, 2025) is a Polish period crime drama you can watch online on iFILM, set in a city counting down to catastrophe. It's the summer of 1936, the Berlin Olympics are weeks away, and swastikas keep multiplying on the streets. Then Breslau turns up a savagely killed body.
The case falls to Commissioner Franz Podolsky — a Pole whose temper annoys his superiors about as much as his results impress them. The authorities want the whole thing buried quietly; no scandal can be allowed to spoil the Games. Podolsky wants the truth instead. The deeper he digs, the clearer it gets that the killer is playing a game with him, and that his badge isn't the only thing on the line. Tomasz Schuchardt plays a detective whose conscience makes survival hard in a system built on looking away.
Directed by Leszek Dawid, the show uses its era as a trap rather than wallpaper: ethnic hatred, early Nazism, a city about to stop being itself. The angle bites — one private murder becomes the crack through which a whole country's coming horror shows through. For anyone hooked on Babylon Berlin and grim interwar noir.
