Synopsis
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022) is a crime comedy with action you can watch online on iFILM. Nicolas Cage plays a version of himself: a fading movie star buried in debt and starved for a great role.
To clear his bills, Cage takes a million-dollar gig at the Mallorca birthday party of billionaire Javi. Javi (Pedro Pascal) is a megafan who collects props from Cage's films and keeps a wax figure of the actor at home. The catch: his host runs a criminal cartel, and the CIA pulls Cage in to play spy for real, leaning on the very screen personas that made him famous. Tiffany Haddish, Sharon Horgan, Neil Patrick Harris and Demi Moore round out the cast.
Director Tom Gormican built the whole movie on Cage's willingness to mock himself, name-checking everything from Face/Off to Paddington 2.
