Cordon (Season 1)

Cordon (Kordon, 2024) is a Russian drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Sasha Dymov, a former border guard jailed on a false charge, walks out of prison and heads back to his home village of Kordonka. Nothing is waiting for him there — his wife has moved in with his best friend, and the border service won't take him back.

An old friend named Trofimych takes him in and sets him up as a mechanic in the local garage. Quiet work, on paper. Except the state border runs right past the village, and with it come the smugglers' hidden trails, dirty cash, weapons, and men desperate to slip across to the other side. A love triangle pulls Sasha in too, and a thread of the supernatural slowly works its way into the story.

Pyotr Rykov leads the cast, with Yuri Osipov directing. What gives the show its pull is the rough provincial setting and a man trying to drag a little order back into a place that long since stopped expecting any.
