Season 1
«История следующего президента»
Synopsis
Servant of the People (Слуга народу, 2015), Season 1 — a Ukrainian political comedy, 24 episodes, to watch online on iFILM. History teacher Vasyl Goloborodko rants about corruption on camera, a pupil posts it online, and weeks later he is president of Ukraine.
Adjusting to it is harder than it looks. Goloborodko refuses the motorcade, takes the minibus to the presidential office, and draws a normal salary — while the machinery around him runs exactly as it always has. Officials perform reform. Ministers accept bribes. Oligarchs quietly agree on their cut. Every initiative he pushes — tax cuts, open hiring for government posts, road repairs — runs into the same wall. Oh, and Ukraine owes the IMF five billion dollars.
The first season was written before Zelensky became an actual president, which is the whole point: the joke turned out to be more accurate than any political forecast. Stream Servant of the People Season 1 online on iFILM.
