Synopsis
Valentin and Valentina (1985) is a Soviet drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Georgy Natanson adapted Mikhail Roshchin's stage play — a fixture on Soviet theatre stages since 1971 — about two eighteen-year-olds who fell in love and decided on the spot to get married.
Both mothers say no. Valentina's mother has a more suitable match in mind. Valentin's mother is no warmer on the idea. Caught between their families, the couple end up fighting not strangers but the people closest to them.
