Synopsis
Caterella (Askepote, 2025) is a Norwegian animated family film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Lisa Marie Gamlem. In a kingdom that runs entirely on fairy-tale logic — ball, glass slipper, happily-ever-after — everything is ticking along until the slipper fits Caterella and she says no. She would rather choose her own story than marry someone based on footwear.
Her refusal breaks the whole system. Chronicle pages rewrite themselves, set dressings collapse, characters forget their lines. The Crown Princess, whose job is keeping the narrative on track, goes to talk some sense into Caterella. She does not succeed. What happens instead is something neither of them planned.
