Synopsis
Miss Sherlock (ミス・シャーロック, 2018) is a Japanese detective drama you can watch online on iFILM. Sherlock is Japanese by origin, raised in Britain, and now consults for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police on cases that stump them. She is precise, abrasive, and entirely uninterested in explaining how she reaches her conclusions.
She crosses paths with Wato Tachibana, a surgeon just back from overseas work, whose sense of justice is almost the opposite of Sherlock's detachment. The two women end up partnering on cases neither could crack alone. This Japanese take on the Conan Doyle template drops the Victorian London setting for contemporary Tokyo and reimagines the Watson role as a female surgeon — enough of a shift that the show earns its own identity rather than just operating as a gender-flipped remake.
