Synopsis
V. Shantaram (2026) is a biographical drama you can watch online about one of the people who built Indian cinema from the ground up. Born Shantaram Rajaram Vankudre, he lived through the silent era, the arrival of sound, and the first color reels — and helped make several of those shifts happen himself.
The film follows his real arc: from an actor at Kolhapur's Prabhat Film Company, which he co-founded in 1929, to the director behind Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje, one of the country's earliest color productions.
