Synopsis
Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island (2026) is now available to watch online, and it opens like any ordinary summer trip — until the sea has other plans.
Chiikawa and the gang paddle out toward an island rumored to guard a mermaid secret nobody's found in generations. The getaway turns strange fast: gentle scares, odd legends, and encounters too sweet to actually be scary. Haruka Aoki, Makoto Tanaka, Ari Ozawa and Yuka Iguchi voice the cast under director Kei Oikawa, and the tagline says it best: "Meet you at the Island."
Nothing here is loud. The whole film runs on small stuff: sparkling water, a character overreacting to a crab, friends who stick around without being asked twice. Stream Chiikawa's island trip on iFILM whenever your family needs something gentle.
