Synopsis

By day Jim Bennett lectures students about talent and meaning. By night he loses everything at the table, again and again. Bennett plays his creditors against each other, draws close to his student Amy, and bets it all on one shot at a clean slate.
This is a reworking of the 1974 film of the same name, with a screenplay by William Monahan, who won an Oscar for The Departed.
