Synopsis
Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) is Rupert Wyatt's science-fiction action film you can watch online on iFILM. A young San Francisco scientist hunts for a cure to Alzheimer's and ends up engineering the fall of human rule.
Will Rodman (James Franco) tests a drug that rebuilds damaged brains. A lab chimp gives birth to an infant with near-human intelligence, and Will names him Caesar. He raises the ape at home, like a son, alongside his ailing father (John Lithgow) and a vet he loves (Frida Pinto). But Caesar grows up, starts to grasp what he is, and one day lands in a grim primate shelter where he is treated as a beast. That is where the revolt begins to form.
Caesar was played entirely by Andy Serkis through motion capture, with no real ape on set, and it reshaped what digital performance could do. The film rebooted the legendary 1968 franchise and launched a fresh trilogy. Stream Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) online on iFILM.
