Synopsis
Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool (2017) is a British biographical drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Paul McGuigan adapts actor Peter Turner's memoir about his real-life relationship with Gloria Grahame — the Oscar-winning actress whose peak Hollywood years were already behind her when the two met in a London boarding house around 1978. She is thirty years older, charming in a way that doesn't ask permission, and still capable of making a room forget everyone else in it. He is young, starstruck, and then genuinely in love. The affair is easy until it isn't: when Grahame falls ill with cancer, she bypasses hospitals and ex-husbands and shows up at the Turner family's door in Liverpool, where Peter's working-class parents — played by Julie Walters and Stephen Graham — take her in without a moment's hesitation.
