Doctor X (1932) — watch this early sound-era horror mystery online on iFILM. Director Michael Curtiz made it for Warner Bros. a decade before Casablanca, with Lionel Atwill as the shadowy Professor Xavier and Fay Wray one year before King Kong made her scream famous.

Murders keep happening at Xavier's anatomy academy. He talks the police into giving him a week to find the killer himself, quietly, no headlines. A wise-guy reporter has other plans and won't stop digging. Curtiz shot the film twice over: once in black and white, once in early two-strip Technicolor that spent decades listed as lost.
