TV-PGSeason 1
Oh Boy!
Synopsis
Quantum Leap (1989), Season 1 — watch online on iFILM. Eight episodes of NBC sci-fi drama that hides genuine moral weight inside what looks like a time-travel adventure show.
Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) stepped into his own quantum accelerator and vanished into history. He wakes up in someone else's body, in someone else's decade, with no memory of who he actually is — and one urgent assignment: fix whatever went wrong in this particular life. His only contact with his own time is Al (Dean Stockwell), a holographic adviser only Sam can see or hear. The assignment changes every episode; so does the era.
Eight leaps, eight pieces of American history: a test pilot at the sound barrier in 1956, an elderly Black man navigating Jim Crow Alabama in 1955, a boxer whose contract has been signed over to gangsters and nuns, a teenager in 1961 trying to stop his sister from the wrong marriage. Each episode has its own specific texture. The pilot, "Genesis," establishes the rules without a lecture — rare for a network sci-fi premiere from this era.
