Synopsis
Creature Commandos (2024), Season 1 is an adult animated DC action series you can watch online on iFILM — seven episodes about monsters drafted for the jobs no human survives. Amanda Waller can't send people, so she empties a prison of creatures instead.
The squad's first job drops them in Pokolistan, guarding Princess Ilana Rostovic, who would rather see them dead than thank them. The season paces itself oddly, and that's the point: between firefights it hands each creature a solo backstory. Where the Bride came from, what put Weasel in Belle Reve, the glory days an old G.I. Robot still replays. By the closing episodes the plot around the princess and Dr. Phosphorus turns far nastier than it first looked.
James Gunn launches his rebooted DC universe with a cartoon, of all things, and his voice is all over it — gore, gallows humor, a strange tenderness toward the grotesque. Anyone who liked The Suicide Squad will be at home here. Stream Creature Commandos Season 1 online on iFILM.
