Synopsis
The Assassin (2025) is a British crime drama series you can watch online on iFILM, starring Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore. Directed by Lisa Mulcahy and Daniel Nettheim, it follows a retired assassin named Julie who has quietly rebuilt her life on a remote Greek island — until her estranged son Edward turns up from England with questions she's been avoiding for years.

Before that conversation can happen on anyone's terms, people from her former life arrive and make the choice for them. What follows is a flight across multiple countries — Greece, and further — with mother and son forced into close quarters while the distance between them gradually collapses. Shalom Brune-Franklin and Jina Gershon appear in supporting roles.
Hawes plays Julie with the particular kind of control that signals years of compartmentalisation — not cold, just very careful. Highmore makes Edward's frustration feel earned rather than petulant.
