What Did Jack Do? (2017) is David Lynch's short film, free to watch online on iFILM. Seventeen minutes of black-and-white noir in which a detective grills a talking monkey.

Inside a locked-down train station, Lynch himself plays the homicide investigator. His suspect is Jack Cruz, a jittery capuchin with a human mouth and a thing for a hen. The interrogation plays like noir parody — smoke, shadows, hard-boiled banter that circles nowhere and somehow keeps you hooked.
