Synopsis
American Ninja (1985) is a Cannon Films action picture you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Sam Firstenberg. Private Joe Armstrong rides escort on an Army convoy in the Philippines, gets ambushed, and instinctively fights back with ninjutsu moves he can't explain.
Michael Dudikoff plays Joe as a loner with a buried past and a chip on his shoulder. Nobody on the base trusts a grunt who fights like a trained assassin — nobody except Sergeant Curtis Jackson, played by the great Steve James. As Joe digs into a weapons-smuggling racket protected from the top, the trail leads deep into the jungle, to an army of Black Ninja and the secret of where he learned to fight.
This is the film that launched a franchise and turned Dudikoff into an 80s video-store icon. The stunts are real, the Dudikoff–James pairing carries every scene, and the plot's pure pulp is half the fun. A no-apologies throwback for fans of old-school martial-arts action.
