Synopsis
Barefoot Gen 2 (はだしのゲン２) is a 1986 Japanese animated film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Toshio Hirata. It continues the story drawn from Keiji Nakazawa's autobiographical manga — a firsthand account of life after the Hiroshima bomb.
Three years on from August 1945, Gen is older, still poor, and now watching his mother's health collapse from radiation exposure. He scrambles to earn money for her medicine in a country barely holding together. Along the way he befriends an orphan boy who becomes something close to a brother — the one he lost in the blast.
