About

Synopsis

Fluke (1995) is an American family drama directed by Carlo Carlei — watch online on iFILM. Thomas Johnson dies in a car crash and wakes up as a puppy. His memories come back slowly, and with them a growing need to find his wife and son — and to figure out what actually happened the day of the accident.

Matthew Modine voices Thomas's interior life throughout. Eric Stoltz plays his former business partner, who now seems rather comfortable near Thomas's family. Samuel L. Jackson shows up as a stray dog who knows more than he lets on and whose advice carries a hard edge. The film is based on a novel by Jack Randall Browne.

On the surface it is a gentle movie for families. Underneath, it is about a man reviewing his choices from a vantage point where he can no longer act like a human but can still feel like one. That gap — between seeing clearly and being too late — is what gives Fluke its quiet weight. Stream Fluke (1995) on iFILM.
