Synopsis
POSE (2018), Season 1 — Ryan Murphy's drama about New York ballroom culture, eight episodes you can watch online on iFILM. The year is 1987. Handed a hard medical diagnosis, Blanca decides to live louder, not smaller, and starts a house of her own.
That house is Evangelista. Blanca takes in the people their birth families threw out — Damon, a dancer chasing a real stage, and other kids of the street with nowhere to belong. They walk the balls: fashion-and-dance contests where Pray Tell runs the mic and the houses compete for trophies and for respect. Around them are Angel, falling for a married yuppie, and Elektra, the rival mother of the House of Abundance weighing gender-affirming surgery. Behind the sequins sit unpaid rent, the shadow of AIDS over a whole generation, and the plain wish to be claimed by someone.
