Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist (Season 1)
Synopsis
Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist (2014) is a live-action take on the legendary video game, and you can watch it online on iFILM. The series winds the clock back to the early years of Ryu and Ken — long before any tournament — when the two students live as recluses in the Japanese mountains, drilling an ancient fighting art.
That art is Ansatsuken, the Assassin's Fist, and neither young man realizes they are the last pupils it will ever be passed to. The deeper their training in the Hado technique goes, the more buried secrets surface from their master's past. To awaken real power, the two friends will have to set friendship aside and face each other in combat. Mike Moh plays Ryu, while Christian Howard takes Ken and also choreographed the fights.
Director Joey Ansah grew the project out of a fan short and delivered a surprisingly careful adaptation: faithful hadokens and shoryukens, real Japanese locations, a straight-faced tone instead of camp. Capcom fans embraced it as one of the rare screen versions that actually respects the source. If you want an honest story about the warrior's path rather than a spoof, this is an unusual find.
