Synopsis
From Time to Time (2009) is a British ghost story you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Julian Fellowes a year before Downton Abbey made him a household name.
With the Blitz raging, thirteen-year-old Tolly is sent off to his grandmother's manor house in the countryside. The place won't stay quiet. Tolly starts catching glimpses of people from two centuries back, and before long he can slip into the 1700s at will — pulled into an old tangle of missing family jewels, a blind girl named Susan, and a butler with plans of his own.
Maggie Smith plays the grandmother, with Dominic West, Timothy Spall and Hugh Bonneville filling out a cast that reads like a Downton reunion in waiting. Fellowes adapted it from Lucy M. Boston's novel The Chimneys of Green Knowe. It's a gentle, unhurried film about the secrets a house keeps — best for viewers who like their hauntings soft-spoken.
