Synopsis
Lucky Hank (2023) hands Bob Odenkirk a tweed jacket and a mountain of resentment, and you can watch it online on iFILM. He plays Hank Devereaux, the reluctant chair of an English department at a broke, second-rate Pennsylvania college he openly despises.
The funding keeps shrinking, his colleagues would love to vote him out, and during one bad lecture he tells his own students they're mediocre — a clip that promptly tears through campus. Home offers no shelter. His wife Lily, played by Mireille Enos, is eyeing a job that would pull her away, and the shadow of his famous literary-critic father presses on Hank harder than any dean ever could. Odenkirk makes him sharp, sour, and his own worst enemy.
This AMC series adapts Richard Russo's novel "Straight Man," and it carries the same dry, wounded humor that fans of Better Call Saul will recognize. It isn't about plot twists; it's about a man at midlife realizing he's stuck. Built for anyone who likes quiet, talky dramas with a mean streak. Stream Lucky Hank (2023) online on iFILM.
