Synopsis

The will sets the siblings against one another. The eldest two are bound to run the business together even though they want opposite things; each of them is sitting on a secret; and beyond the gates Ireland is simmering, with Fenian rebels and workers who couldn't care less about the family's quarrels. Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge and Emily Fairn play the Guinness children, with James Norton and Jack Gleeson among the figures circling their fortune.
Knight hauls his signature mix — power, blood, class warfare and stylish 19th-century grime — out of Birmingham and into Dublin. The show runs on the family, not the stout: a dynasty ready to devour itself for control of the brand.
