Synopsis

He doesn't get to keep it. A Trivantian scientist named Tormada has built weapons that exploit sight — the first time in centuries that technology, not superstition, makes sighted people militarily dangerous. A devastating personal loss drags Baba back to Pennsa to warn his family. Wren escapes Trivantis and arrives with hard intelligence on Tormada's plans. Baba assembles a squad and moves on the House of Enlightenment to destroy the arsenal; the mission turns into a bloody siege. Meanwhile Sibeth attacks the capital directly.
