Пятый сезон раскидывает десять отдельных дел по всей карте — от Мичигана до Нью-Мексико. Мать-одиночка из Мэриленда просит ангельской защиты, уверенная, что в доме поселился демон. Парапсихологу Бобу Бейкеру из Коннектикута приходится спасать собственную мать. Пара покупает старый ресторан и получает в нагрузку «гостей», которых не звали. Чем ближе к финалу сезона, тем чаще речь идёт уже об экзорцизме, а не о тихих шорохах на чердаке.
