Открывает сезон подросток с паранормальным даром, которого выслеживает хитрый демон. Дальше зло всё чаще приходит через вещи и места: семья находит при ремонте «злое» ожерелье и тащит сущность к себе домой; супруги спускаются в тоннель с жуткой историей, и оттуда за ними кто-то увязывается. Где-то детский воображаемый друг оказывается совсем не другом. А самый необычный эпизод, «Ghosts of War», сводит обычную пару с призраком немецкого солдата, что требует расплаты за свою смерть.
Структура та же, что и восемь сезонов назад: одна история на серию, реконструкции, демонологи и парапсихологи в кадре. Зато восьмой заметно разнообразнее по «спусковым крючкам» — не только дома, но и предметы, фото, чужое прошлое. Хороший вход для тех, кто к франшизе только присматривается.
