The Heroic Legend of Arslan (アルスラーン戦記, 2015) is a Japanese fantasy anime series you can watch online on iFILM. Based on Yoshiki Tanaka's novel cycle — with the manga adaptation drawn by Hiromu Arakawa, the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist — it unfolds in the fictional kingdom of Pars, a realm modelled loosely on the ancient Middle East.

Prince Arslan is fourteen and untested when everything falls apart. A Lusitanian trap destroys the Parsian army in a single afternoon; the capital Ecbatana is taken, the king captured. Arslan escapes with a small company — the warrior Daryun, the calculating tactician Narsus, the young archer Farangis — and begins the long work of taking back a kingdom while figuring out what kind of ruler he wants to be.
