American Crime (2015) is an ABC anthology drama you can watch online on iFILM. In a quiet California town a war veteran lies dead and his wife is left in a coma, and police call the attack a racial hate crime before the facts are in.

From that single night the story fans out across a whole community. Grieving parents, the families of the accused, detectives, lawyers, addicts and frightened teenagers each carry a version of the truth, and skin color keeps deciding whose version gets believed. Creator John Ridley, who wrote 12 Years a Slave, isn't chasing a whodunit; the case is just a way to crack open the machinery of the justice system. Felicity Huffman plays a mother whose grief curdles into rage, with Timothy Hutton, Regina King and Benito Martinez around her.

Every season resets — new city, new crime, new roles for the same returning cast — while the cold, unsentimental eye on American courts never blinks.
