Synopsis

A friend talks Miranda into a blind date. On the night it's set for, a stranger knocks, and she lets him in without realizing he isn't the man she was expecting. That single evening tears her old life apart. Her attacker, played by Shiloh Fernandez, goes to prison — but he's paroled sooner than feels fair. So Miranda does something you'd never expect from a quiet nurse: she starts writing him letters and waiting for him to come around.
The film leans almost entirely on Pike, who tries on the cold, calculating mask here a couple of years before Gone Girl made it famous.
