Synopsis
Shrek the Musical (2013) is the filmed Broadway production you can watch online on iFILM. The big green ogre is back — only this time he sings, in a live stage capture of the show built from the animated hit.
Shrek's swamp gets overrun when Lord Farquaad banishes every fairy-tale misfit onto his land. To win it back, the ogre sets off to rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower, a motor-mouthed Donkey tagging along the whole way. Brian d'Arcy James sings under the prosthetics, Sutton Foster gives Fiona a secret of her own, and Christopher Sieber plays Farquaad as a tiny man with enormous plans.
With songs by Jeanine Tesori and a book by David Lindsay-Abaire, the show picked up Tony nominations during its Broadway run, and this capture keeps the costumes, the puppetry and the live pit orchestra intact.
