Synopsis

The sixth and final season of The Larry Sanders Show (1992) is HBO's twelve-episode farewell to the late-night comedy, and you can watch Season 6 online on iFILM. Ratings are sliding, and the network is openly grooming Jon Stewart to take Larry's chair.

This is the season about the end. The staff quietly mails out résumés, unsure whether they'll last to the credits. A "creative consultant" arrives and tears up the format, Phil walks off to write his own pilot, and the old routines start coming apart. The jokes stay dry, but underneath them you can hear the unease of people about to lose the only home they share. Sid's death lands hard, on Hank most of all. And the two closing episodes build toward the last talk show ever taped, where Larry manages, true to form, to pick fights with a couple of star guests.

Garry Shandling shuts the book on his TV-industry portrait honestly and without sentiment — funny right up to the second it turns sad. The ideal place to see how the neurotic host's story ends. Stream The Larry Sanders Show Season 6 online on iFILM.
