A radioactive spider bite turns a broke college photographer into a masked vigilante who swings between skyscrapers and trades punches with Doc Ock, Electro, Vulture and Scorpion. The animation budget was modest; it showed in every frame. Peter Parker still had rent to worry about under the mask, and that tension — real person, impossible situation — is what kept the show watchable.
