Then bodies of sex workers start turning up in the alleys, and Mickey realizes the next victim could be Casey. The case drags her back into a shared past and into questions she would rather leave buried. Nicholas Pinnock plays her partner, Ashleigh Cummings the sister she keeps losing.

Adapted from Liz Moore's novel, the eight-episode series lets the mystery grow straight out of family trauma. This is not a procedural racing toward a killer reveal; what matters more is what the epidemic does to people and the ones who love them.
