Synopsis
Firehouse Dog (2007) is a family comedy directed by Todd Holland that you can watch online on iFILM. Rexxx is Hollywood's most pampered canine star — diamond collar, personal trainer, the works. Then a stunt goes sideways during a commercial shoot and the famous hound lands on the streets, unrecognised by everyone.
Twelve-year-old Shane (Josh Hutcherson) takes in the stray and brings him to his dad's run-down fire station — a place that really needs a win. Rexxx, it turns out, has more than a nose for cameras; he's got genuine instincts around smoke and flame. Bruce Greenwood plays the no-nonsense captain who comes around slowly. Director Todd Holland keeps it light and moves fast, leaning on real stunt work and a dog that's clearly having the time of his life. Decent weeknight fare if you've got kids in the room.
