Synopsis
Cast a Deadly Spell (1991) is a noir-meets-horror fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. Picture 1948 Los Angeles, except magic here is as ordinary as a phone call — hexes, gremlins and tarot readings on every corner. Private eye Phil Lovecraft is the one man in town who refuses to use any of it.
Wealthy Amos Hackshaw hires Lovecraft to recover a stolen book: the Necronomicon, a grimoire whose owner can rewrite reality itself. The case drags the detective through dives where zombies tend bar and alleys where gargoyles and demons wait. The stakes keep climbing too — forget the fee, what's really on the line is the end of the world.
Behind the camera sits Martin Campbell, years before he'd reboot James Bond with GoldenEye and Casino Royale.
