Synopsis
A Boy Called Christmas (2021) is a wintry holiday fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. It tells how an ordinary boy named Nikolas grew up to become the Santa the whole world waits for.
Nikolas's father (Michiel Huisman) joins a royal expedition into the frozen north, hunting for the fabled elf village of Elfhelm. Unable to bear the separation, the boy (Henry Lawfull) sets off after him across the snowy wild, taking along a stubborn reindeer called Blitzen and a loyal pet mouse. Past the curtain of the northern lights wait not just elves but trolls, a cruel ruler, and the secret of who he is meant to be. A wonderfully odd aunt, played by Maggie Smith, frames the whole tale.
Director Gil Kenan adapts Matt Haig's bestseller into a cozy winter parable, stacked with British talent: Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent, Toby Jones and Kristen Wiig.
