Synopsis
Top of the Lake (2013), Season 1 is Jane Campion's crime drama you can watch online on iFILM — seven episodes that open when Tui Mitcham, a pregnant twelve-year-old, wades into a freezing lake and vanishes, leaving Detective Robin Griffin to find her.
Robin, played by Elisabeth Moss, comes back to the remote town of Laketop to sit with her dying mother and ends up running a search that looks, at first, like a simple missing-child case. It isn't. The town hides a drug operation run by Tui's father, men who can't be trusted, and a women's commune on the shore led by the cryptic GJ — Holly Hunter, half guru, half wreck. The closer Robin gets to the girl, the louder her own buried past in this same place grows. All seven episodes drive the investigation and her private wound toward the same point.
