18+Season 1
Synopsis
Masters of the Air (2024), Season 1 is the World War II drama you can watch online on iFILM — nine episodes that put the 100th Bomb Group of the U.S. Eighth Air Force on a frozen English airfield in 1943 and send it up into daylight raids over the Reich.
At the heart of it are Majors Gale Cleven and John Egan, fliers of the outfit history nicknamed the Bloody Hundredth for what it lost. The season tracks them from early strikes on U-boat pens in Norway to the deadliest runs deep inside Germany — aircraft plants, Bremen, then Berlin itself. Some crews don't come home; some end up behind the wire at Stalag Luft III, counting days until the Allied landings. Navigator Crosby steps forward, stubborn Rosenthal earns his name, and late in the run the Tuskegee airmen take the screen. Every mission here is arithmetic, not spectacle — who climbs back out of that cold sky.
Made by the Band of Brothers and The Pacific team with Spielberg and Hanks for Apple TV+, it draws on Donald Miller's book. Expensive, cold, honest about the cost. Stream Masters of the Air Season 1 online on iFILM.
