Synopsis
Sweet Movie (1974) is a provocative satire from director Dušan Makavejev that you can watch online on iFILM. A Canada–France–West Germany co-production.
Two stories run in parallel. In one, the winner of a virginity pageant is married off to a milk tycoon's son and bolts from the gilded cage. In the other, a tugboat drifts downriver with a giant head of Karl Marx mounted on its bow, carrying a revolutionary who seduces nearly everyone she meets. Makavejev swings at capitalism and communism alike, blending shock, farce and political pamphlet.
