Synopsis
The Last Dragon (1985) is a martial arts comedy directed by Michael Schultz — watch it online on iFILM. Produced by Berry Gordy of Motown Records, the film mixes kung-fu, funk, and New York City swagger into something that fits no genre cleanly, which is part of why it stuck around.
Bruce Leroy (Taimak) is a young martial artist chasing the highest level of mastery — a mysterious power called the Glow. His search drops him into a street war with Sho'nuff, the Shogun of Harlem, played by Julius Carry in a performance that is genuinely hard to shake. A music TV host named Laura Charles (Vanity) gets tangled in the middle after an obsessive promoter starts making her life dangerous.
The film got a lukewarm reception in 1985 but built a devoted following over the years — people who caught it on cable and kept coming back for its odd mix of sincerity, camp, and surprisingly sharp fight choreography. Stream The Last Dragon (1985) online on iFILM.
