Graveyard of Honor

Graveyard of Honor (1975) is a Japanese yakuza film directed by Kinji Fukasaku — watch online on iFILM. It is based on the true story of Rikio Ishikawa, a real gangster whose path through the criminal underworld ended the only way it could.

A dishwasher named Ishimatsu saves a gang boss's life by accident and gets pulled into the yakuza as a reward. It does nothing to settle him. Violence is a reflex, not a strategy. Drug addiction makes him worse. When he shoots his own boss in a blind rage, every faction in the underworld turns on him at once. Tetsuya Watari plays Ishimatsu without softening him or asking the audience to understand — the camera just follows a man wrecking everything around him and then himself.
