Synopsis
What If...? (2021), Season 1 — a nine-episode animated anthology from Marvel Studios, watch online on iFILM. One divergent choice per episode. Nine entirely separate timelines, each built around a familiar MCU turning point that went differently.
Peggy Carter takes the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers. T'Challa grows up as a Ravager, not the king of Wakanda. Nick Fury watches his Avenger candidates die before the team can ever form. Doctor Strange tears at the fabric of reality to undo grief. By the final episodes the scale tips past a single universe: an Ultron who claimed all six Infinity Stones has started erasing existence dimension by dimension, and the threat has no obvious answer.
Most of the original film cast returned to voice their alternate selves — a choice that grounds each odd premise in something recognizable.
