Synopsis
Baskets (2016), Season 1 — watch online on iFILM. Ten episodes of FX's deadpan tragicomedy, where Chip Baskets flunks out of a Paris clown academy over a language exam and drags himself back home to Bakersfield.
What follows is a season about chasing a dream that was never going to work out. Chip takes a job as a rodeo clown, fights his twin brother and his mother for scraps of approval, and strikes up an odd, tender friendship with Martha, an insurance adjuster who keeps showing up. The stories stay small and painful: an Easter brunch curdles into a family fight, a road trip for "cowboy justice" goes sideways, and by the finale Chip hits rock bottom. No laugh track, no easy jokes — just awkward silence and the occasional curly fry.
Zach Galifianakis plays both Baskets brothers, and Louie Anderson won an Emmy as their mother Christine. Created by Galifianakis, Louis C.K. and Jonathan Krisel, this is sad-clown comedy for people who like their humor bruised. Stream Baskets Season 1 online on iFILM.
