Synopsis
Watch Baskets Season 2 online on iFILM — ten more episodes of FX's bruised comedy about a failed clown from Bakersfield, picking up in 2017 with the family at its lowest. Chip has lost his wife and his rodeo job, so he hops a freight train and tries to vanish.
It doesn't take. A pack of gutter punks, the police and a sudden tragedy haul him back to the exact life he ran from. Christine fights to keep her sons together, Dale flounders through his own schemes, and Chip puts the makeup back on — now clowning at staged car crashes that Martha lines up for him. The season is quieter than the first and sadder for it, letting the funny and the awful share a single frame with no cue for which is which.
Louie Anderson is still playing the boys' mother Christine, the Emmy-winning turn at the heart of the show. By the finale Chip runs off with a troupe of Russian circus performers, and the story edges toward the dream it chased from the start. If the first season got under your skin, this one digs deeper.
