About

Synopsis

Thomas and the Magic Railroad (2000) is a family fantasy you can watch online on iFILM — the little blue tank engine's first jump to the big screen.

Mr. Conductor (Alec Baldwin) is running out of the magic gold dust that lets him travel between the Island of Sodor and the town of Shining Time. With nowhere else to turn, he leans on his slacker cousin, a glum grandfather named Burnett (Peter Fonda) and Burnett's granddaughter Lily (Mara Wilson). Meanwhile, back on Sodor, Thomas is fending off a gang of nasty diesel engines. Saving both worlds means tracking down a lost secret engine.

Britt Allcroft, who created the franchise, directed this first feature to mix the model trains with live actors. The tagline — "Little Engines CAN Do Big Things" — sets the register: gentle, low-stakes cinema aimed squarely at the very young. A solid choice for a family watch with preschoolers. Stream Thomas and the Magic Railroad (2000) online on iFILM.
