TV-MASynopsis
Sweetpea (2024), Season 1 is the Sky black comedy-thriller you can watch online on iFILM — six episodes led by Ella Purnell as the woman nobody bothers to look at twice. This first season is about what happens when the quiet one stops being convenient.
Two blows land at once: Rhiannon's father dies, and the bully who made her teenage years hell turns up again. She snaps. For the first time it doesn't feel like fear — it feels like power. From there the season tightens, episode by episode. She digs into who her first victim really was, sets her sights on flawless Julia Blenkingsopp, and starts wearing borrowed confidence like a second skin. Whispers spread, suspicion closes in, and a truce with Julia turns out to be far riskier than open war. The tone can swing from sharp comedy to something genuinely cold inside a single scene.
Adapted from C.J. Skuse's novels, the show rests almost entirely on Purnell, who plays prey and predator in the same breath. Best for viewers who like a morally cracked heroine and humour with teeth. Stream Sweetpea Season 1 online on iFILM.
